Main Characters 3

Dominar Rygel XVI, called Rygel by his crewmates is a Hynerian an aquatic species. He was toppled from the Hynerian thrownby his own cousin and ended up in Peacekeeper custody for over 130 cycles, much of it spent at the hands of the evil Peacekeeper Captain Selto Durka. He is pompous, devious, greedy (he has three stomachs) and an accomplished thief and skilled in the art of bartering. He thinks nothing of betraying his own crew to benefit himself, however he tends to make the correct decision in the end, though will constantly remind his crewmates of his 'sacrifices'.

Being only around 2 foot in height, he tends to spend most of his time in a floating 'throne sled'. His aim in life is to return to Hyneria and reclaim his thrown from Bishan, the cousin who betrays him. His aim is given an unexpected boost in the Peacekeeper Wars mini series.

He is given a variety of nicknames by Crichton including: buckwheat, fluffy, sparky, guido & his royal flatulence. Hismost used curse is 'yotz'.

Pilot is from a race basically known as pilots. They seem to exist purely to become bonded with Leviathons, the race of living ships to which Moya belongs. Pilot manages the ships functions, navigation and serves as a liaison between the crew and Moya from his den. Moya's original pilot was executed and replaced with the current Pilot whilst she was enslaved by the Peackeepers for experiments. They wanted a pilot who would obey their commands and thus Pilot was offered the position by Peacekeeper Velorek even though the elders of his world had already denied him the opportunity. His acceptance of this position resulted in the execution of the original pilot. He was quickly & artificially bonded with the Leviathan Moya which caused him severe pain which he endured for cycles (see episode 'The Way We Weren't' which also has the added twist of Aeryn being involved).

Pilot has superior multitasking skills and regenerative ability. He has been seperated from Moya three times; twice physically in episodes 'The Way We Weren't' and 'Bad Timing' and mentally in the the episode 'Out of Their Minds'. Pilot is the the other main character who is an animatronic puppet.

  He is voiced by Lani Tupu, who also plays the character Crais.

Captain Bialar Crais has not had a happy life. He was shanghaied (as he put it) as a child from his families Sebacean farming community along with his brother Tauvo into Peacekeeper service. He rose through the ranks to Captain and was the commanding officer who declared Aeryn Sun 'irreversibly contaminated'.

He is hellbent on revenge after assuming Crichton killed his brother deliberately (it was an accident) and hunts Crichton across the galaxy during season one and is the primary antagonist. This changes towards the end of the season with the introduction of a worse foe - Scorpius.

As Crais is disgraced from his Captain's role, he steals Moya's child Talyn, a hybrid ship part Leviathon, part Peacekeeper gun ship. His original intent is to control the ship, however they develop almost a father-son bond. The storyline of Crais & Talyn runs spradically through season two and is significant in season three resulting in heroic sacrifice. One of the most memorable appearances is during the episode 'Won't Get Fooled Again' where we see Crais dressed as police officer with the exception of a pair bright red stillettos.
